Once again, the secrets of Marvel Studios seem to have a weakness in the form of crew members’ resumes. It is less than a week since one stunt performer’s profile of work was discovered to include being the stunt double for Megan Thee Stallion on the upcoming series of She-Hulk, which looks to have confirmed the rapper’s long-standing cameo rumor. Now it looks like the resume of a costume designer has revealed a much bigger MCU secret: where we will see Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrios’ Kingpin next. While there has obviously been no official confirmation by Marvel Studios, it looks like the pair will be part of the Echo TV series, which spins off Alaqua Cox’s character from last year’s Hawkeye.

Following the cancellation of Marvel Television’s series on Netflix, the future was very uncertain for the casts of those shows. However, as a Christmas present to fans, Charlie Cox appeared as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home around the same time Vincent D’Onofrio made his unexpected return as Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk in the finale of Hawkeye on Disney+. While neither actor would say in and when they would be back in the roles, it is doubtful anyone expected these to be one-off appearances.

The new information on their apparent participation in Echo, which will see Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez getting her own story after her Hawkeye debut, was seen on the resume of costume designer Stacy Caballero, who among her many credits lists Echo, and specifically, names both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio along with the series lead as the actions she has worked with on the production. As far as it goes, there is little reason to refute the information.

While many Marvel Cinematic Universe storylines are about to take us into fantastic territory, from Doctor Strange’s imminent appointment with the multiverse to Thor’s next interstellar adventure and Ant-Man’s Quantum Realm jaunts, last year’s Hawkeye had both feet firmly planted on the ground. It looks like Echo, which centers on the deaf hero who made her debut in a Daredevil story in 1999, is going to be following the same kind of grounded storyline and will seemingly answer the question of what happened to Kingpin at the end of Hawkeye.

There is still quite a way to go before we see Echo arrive on Disney+, and currently, it is tracking for a release sometime in 2023, possibly around the same time of year that Hawkeye landed in 2021. Recent reports have suggested that Marvel has applied for permits to start filming on the series in Georgia from this month, and that would certainly seem to fit with a premiere date in late fall or winter next year.

While it was expected that Charlie Cox would undoubtedly be back again in the MCU, it was assumed he could make an appearance before Echo comes around. Vincent D’Onofrio’s return was less certain, and with the actor himself once more playing the “I know nothing” card, we can only watch and wait for more details as they emerge.
