The rumors are true: a new Daredevil series is coming to Disney+. At San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel dropped tons of big news with their return to the event. This included new information about the titles they have in line for the big and small screens that will make up Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe This includes Daredevil: Born Again, a new series heading to Disney+ in Spring 2024.

It has also been confirmed that the series brings back original Daredevil stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio to reprise their respective roles as Matt Murdock and Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk. It was also revealed that the show will consist of a whopping 18 episodes, three times as long Marvel shows typically are on Disney+. This shows great confidence in Daredevil: Born Again as a series that will be sticking around for a while on the streaming platform.

Fans could see this as a continuation of the three-season Daredevil series that previously streamed at Netflix. Both Cox and D'Onofrio have since reprised their roles in the MCU, though there had been some speculation as to whether they were variants from the multiverse or if they were the same Murdock and Fisk fans met in the Netflix series. D'Onofrio has since stated that he sees his return as canon to the previous Daredevil show, officially linking the continuities.

“I think the Blip has happened, and I think his Kingdom took a bit of a hit, and he’s trying to get his city back. That’s how I played him, and I think that was the general idea," the actor told TVLine. "Obviously, in the show, he’s physically stronger and can take more physical abuse. But emotionally, and as far as the history that was discussed about what’s been going on, was done with connecting as many dots from Daredevil to Hawkeye as possible. There are obviously things that we can’t connect — for instance, he’s stronger — but as far as how I played him and the history that I carry myself from and into Hawkeye, he is the same guy.”
