As reported by PEOPLE, actor David Dastmalchian, who made his big screen debut with Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, recently revealed that he's "deeply grateful" to work with the director again on Oppenheimer. While chatting with PEOPLE about his new Hulu thriller Boston Strangler, the actor spoke about working on Oppenheimer, Nolan's upcoming film, which tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy), the American scientist best known for his part in creating the atomic bomb.

While reflecting on getting to work with Nolan again on a new project, Dastmalchian said, "I'm so honored and grateful that I got an opportunity to go back and create a role with someone who changed my life, who gave me my first break, and who continues to inspire me."

He went on to say, "I believe that what I got to see Cillian creating on set as well is going to really move people in a powerful way, and I'm just honored that I get to be a part of it in any way, shape, or form," before noting "I'm really, really blessed."

The actor went on to note that his performance in The Dark Knight is the role that he is "most consistently" recognized for before adding that he's "deeply, deeply grateful" for the Interstellar director's contributions to the entertainment industry as well as his personal life.

While reflecting on his career since his working on Dark Knight, the actor stated, "Man, I feel old." Dastmalchian then added, "My life has changed so much, and every step of the way I can look back and say that in some way that experience of him casting me in his film is a reason for it."

He continued, "I'm just so deeply, deeply grateful for him, not only for all of the cinema that he's given us to enjoy, but for the opportunity he gave me and how much it changed my life and my family's life."

Dastmalchian finished by saying, "So this whole moment, this whole year, this whole experience of getting to be a part of all these projects, I feel like it's a little hard to believe right now. But I'm trying to just sit here and take my breaths and feel all the gratitude that I'm feeling."

Boston Strangler is currently streaming on Hulu, while Oppenheimer is expected to release in theaters on July 21st.
