Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) is making Noah, an edgy re-telling of the Noah's Ark story, his next directorial effort, after dropping out of The Wolverine. Darren Aronofsky wrote the script which is getting a rewrite by John Logan.

Noah is said to have a $130 million pricetag, and New Regency might help co-finance the project.

Paramount, Fox and Summit are all apparently circling Noah, which is described as a big fantasy epic, a gritty, down-and-dirty re-telling of the man who saved all the animals of the world from an apocalyptic flood.

No production date has been set.
