Make it Happen, a film about the world of American burlesque, has been sold to the Weinstein Brothers. According to Variety, Darren Grant has signed on to direct the dance film.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Tessa Thompson will be starring in the project. The story will revolve around a small town dreamer who moves to Chicago with the hopes of joining a prestigious dance company. Sadly, she is forced to work in a burlesque club when things go haywire.

Duane Alder, who has already dabbled in dance with the films Save The Last Dance and Step Up, will be writing the screenplay for this new burlesque expose.

Make it Happen will start shooting August 7th of this year in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
