Daryl Hannah has just joined the cast of the Hallmark Channel's three-hour original telefilm Shark Swarm. According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Schneider and Armand Assante have climbed aboard the project as well.
The story revolves around a group of tame sharks that turn into mutant killer fish. These rabid flesh eaters begin to swarm a small coastal town near the infamous Red Triangle. Two fisherman come to the town's rescue when they discover that deadly toxins have been poured into the water and are the cause of the shark outbreak.
Assante is playing an evil land developer, Schneider is playing one of the fishermen, and Hannah is playing his wife. The film will air early next year as part of Hallmark's slate of thirty original movies to be shown on the channel in 2008.
