Renters and buyers apparently were in the mood to laugh last week.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Date Movie took the number one spot on the national DVD sales chart, and Home Media Retailing's video rental chart for the week that ended June 4th.

High School Musical took the number two position on the national DVD sales chart.

It is estimated that Date Movie brought in $9.6 million in rentals last week.

Freedomland came in at No. 3 "on VideoScan's First Alert sales chart and No. 2 on the rental chart." It is estimated that that title took in $8.8 million in rentals last week as well.

The Riddick Trilogy showed a lot of muscle for a set of repackaged DVDs, as it landed in the No. 6 spot on VideoScan's First Alert sales chart.
