David Ayer is getting into the 'family' in a double duty job in the new drama, Mafia Cop for Universal Pictures and Mandalay Pictures.

The film is based on the life of what some call the worst police corruption scandals in New York history centering on Louis Eppolito, a former cop found guilty, along with Stephen Caracappa, of participating in eight murders, two attempted murders, one murder conspiracy, money laundering, obstruction of justice and drug distribution. Eppolito and Caracappa were arrested in 2005 after retiring from police work, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

Mafia Cop has no set production details.
