Chappelle's Show: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Comedy Central star Dave Chappelle is issuing another DVD based on a stand-up special he performed in September on Showtime, along with new bonus footage.

Sony won a bidding war for the material, according to sources, by luring Chappelle with a seven-figure advance. The demand for the DVD rights to the comedian's work is not surprising; the first season of Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show is the best-selling TV series on DVD ever, closing in on 2 million units sold.

Sony, which is busy rolling out a likely challenger to Chappelle with a DVD collection of the first three seasons of Seinfeld via Columbia TriStar Home Video, is expected to release the new Chappelle DVD in June. Comedy Central Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment may be kicking themselves for not grabbing the DVD rights to the Showtime special, but consolation will come soon: The season 2 DVD of Chappelle's Show from Paramount hits stores in February.
