David Goyer is in early talks to create a second Ghost Rider film. He is currently in the early stages of creating a story, and will supervise a team of writers on the final script. According to Variety, even though this is being considered a re-boot of the series, Ghost Rider 2 will once again star Nicolas Cage in the lead role.
At this time, Goyer still hasn't officially signed onto the project. The plan is for Goyer to base his story on a Ghost Rider script that was written years ago by the director. This new film will be produced by former Marvel president Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul, with Gary Foster on as an executive producer. There is no word on whether Goyer himself will direct the rebooted sequel.
Though the film doesn't have a set start date, it is likely that we won't see Ghost Rider 2 until sometime in 2011.
