David Hasselhoff is currently in negotiations to appear in the upcoming remake of NBC's Knight Rider. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he would be reprising his Michael Knight character.

The Young and the Restless's Deanna Russo has just signed on as the female star of the upcoming pilot. She will be appearing opposite fellow soap star Justin Bruening.

The two-hour telefilm pilot features Bruening as Knight's son. The plot is described as such:

Burned by his love for childhood best friend and one-time girlfriend Sarah Kamen (Russo), Mike is wasting away in Las Vegas when Sarah reappears and is willing to pay off Mike's gambling debt in exchange for help.{@@@newline@@@}{@@@newline@@@}Sarah is the brilliant estranged daughter of KITT inventor Charles Kamen, who works as an assistant professor in the engineering department at Stanford. When she receives word from talking-car KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) that her father is missing, she and KITT set out to find and recruit Mike.

The show is set to go into production before the end of the year.
