Former New Line exec Mark Ordesky has begun development on the thriller Bad Luck, through his new shingle Amber Entertainment, and set The Final Destination director David R. Ellis to helm the project.

According to Variety, Amber is partnering with Entertainment 7 for the film.

Bad Luck is being worked as the first in a franchise. Penned by David J. Schow (The Crow), the film centers on a group of college friends who are skeptical about superstitions and find out the hard way when superstitions come between them and those they love.

Bad Luck is set to begin production in the fall.
