Deathlok: Paramount and Marvel Studios have tapped Road to Perdition scripter David Self to rewrite the proposed big-screen debut of Marvel Comic’s time traveling cyborg from the 1970’s Deathlok.

Raven Metzner and Stu Zicherman, who also penned the upcoming Daredevil spin-off Elektra, wrote the widely internet reviewed first draft of the script, which unlike the comic book upon which it’s allegedly based, follows a suburban family man who becomes a test subject for a technology research lab that transforms him into a living computer.

The studio is still on the lookout for the right director. But, Paul McGuigan, who directed the upcoming Josh Hartnet starer Wicker Park, is reported to be the lead possibility, even though no formal negotiations have begun. Die Another Day's Lee Tamahori was previously attached to direct. Self's credits also include The Hanting and Thirteen Days.
