This month's issue of Empire magazine takes viewers behind-the-scenes of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. They have released an exclusive photo featuring Toby Kebbell as he brings alpha ape Koba to life via the magic of motion capture. Here, we see him roaring his way through Ape Village, where guns have become somewhat of an issue.

Empire's latest issue will be on sale March 27. It takes an in-depth look at Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which finds Caesar and his army stationed at Ape Village, where they are attempting to build a community devoid of humans, of which a small group lingers on the outer rim waiting to attack.

Director Matt Reeves explains:

"It's an ape civilization movie. It's a world you haven't seen before, which is all about: what would these intelligent apes do if they returned to the wild and tried to create a place for their family... and then grow?"

Jason Clarke stars as Malcolm, a former architect who reaches out to the apes, hoping to form a pact between the ape and human worlds, so that both species can live together in harmony. That will prove to be no easy task.
