The Spoils of Babylon stars Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig have reunited for a secret Lifetime TV movie entitled A Deadly Adoption. The movie has already completed production, and is set for an early summer debut on Lifetime. The movie coincides with the network's 25th anniversary of their TV movie empire, with A Deadly Adoption described by The Hollywood Reporter as, "campy and fun and a contemporary wink at the genre."

The story centers on a married couple (Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig) who take care of a young pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes), in hopes to adopt her child, when things start to go awry. Will Ferrell and his Gary Sanchez Productions partner Adam McKay serve as executive producers. Will Ferrell is said to be a huge fan of Lifetime original movies, and has always wanted to make one himself.

Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Escape from Polygamy) is directing from a screenplay by The Spoils of Babylon writer Andrew Steele. The writer will also executive produce alongside Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Sharon Bordas, Fernando Szew and Jessica Elbaum. Lifetime launched its first TV movie in 1990 with Memories of Murder. Their long-running original movie stable includes notable hits such as With This Ring, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B and this January's Whitney.
