As Deadpool heads into its third week in theaters, some fans are already looking ahead to Deadpool 2. We reported earlier this month that 20th Century Fox has issued a green light for the sequel, with original Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick coming back to work on the script. Star Ryan Reynolds revealed during Deadpool's post-credit scene that the sequel will feature the iconic X-Force character Cable. Today, we have a new report from Heroic Hollywood that claims another X-Force character, Domino, will be making her debut in the X-Men movie universe.

Domino first appeared in X-Force Vol. 1 #11 in June 1992, and she was created by Deadpool and X-Force creators Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza. She has exceptional marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat skills, but Domino is best known for her ability to alter other mutants' powers. Born Neena Thurman, Domino was one of only two people to survive a government program named Project: Armageddon, which gave her the ability to manipulate luck.

In the comics, Domino was an on-and-off love interest for Cable, so it seems like that story could unfold in the sequel. Very little is known about the follow-up's plot at this point, and it isn't known how far along Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are on the screenplay. Tim Miller, who made his directorial debut with Deadpool, is expected to return as well, alongside Ryan Reynolds. We don't know quite yet how many other Deadpool characters will be back, such as Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller and Brianna Hildebrand.

20th Century Fox is also developing an X-Force movie, which has a script by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2). There have been rumors that X-Force may move ahead before Deadpool 2, but if all these rumors are true, it seems that the sequel may end up setting up the X-Force movie instead. The studio is also developing The New Mutants, which is rumored to feature Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

After just 14 days in theaters, Deadpool has raked in a massive $250.2 million domestic and $266.4 million internationally for a global total of $516.7 million worldwide at the box office. As this R-rated superhero adventure continues to defy all odds at the box office, 20th Century Fox will surely issue a release date and hopefully new details for the sequel very soon. What do you think about Domino potentially joining Deadpool 2?
