Deadpool remains not only one of the biggest financially successful movies of 2016, but also one of the most beloved. So, all eyes are on Deadpool 2, which has still yet to secure a release date, but it seems as though the mutant Domino will be along for the ride. Now we have a new shortlist of actresses who Fox is apparently looking at to play the lady mercenary alongside Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson.

Collider has revealed a list of actresses who have either screen tested for the role of Domino in Deadpool 2 or who Fox intends to test. The list includes Lizzy Caplan from Masters of Sex, Mary Elizabeth Winstead from 10 Cloverfield Lane, Sienna Miller from American Sniper, Sofia Boutella from Star Trek Beyond, Stephanie Sigman from Spectre, and the slightly lesser known Sylvia Hoeks. That is not to say that these are the only actresses who are being looked at, but according to the report, these actresses are seriously being considered.

A couple of months ago, we reported that The Martian actress Mackenzie Davis was being looked at for the role of Domino. This new report doesn't mention her by name, but that doesn't necessarily mean she is totally out of the running. The movie is also looking to cast the famed, time-traveling mutant Cable, who was teased in the post-credit scene at the end of Deadpool. Actors like Ron Perlman and Stephen Lang have thrown their names out there for the part, but other reports claim that director Tim Miller wants Bloodline star Kyle Chandler for the role, while Fox supposedly wants Liam Neeson. Perhaps once Domino is cast they will look to cast Cable based on who can play off of that actress and Ryan Reynolds.

The addition of Domino hasn't been officially announced, but would make a lot of sense for Deadpool 2. The character was also part of X-Force, a team Deadpool is very heavily associated with in the comics. Not only that, but Domino is also the love interest for Cable in the comic books, so that would also be another thread that could be pulled, should both characters wind up in the movie together. Domino is an expert marksman and is very skilled in hand to hand combat, but her real power comes from her mutant power of being able to telekinetically manipulate probability.

It was revealed a few months ago that the Deadpool sequel would likely start production at the beginning of 2017. We haven't heard anything official on that front since. Fox currently has a release date pegged for an untitled Marvel project on March 2, 2018. It would make a lot of sense if the title of that untitled project was eventually changed to whatever the actual title for Deadpool 2 ends up being. The original Deadpool grossed $782 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing X-Men related movie to date. So, Fox will probably want to stick as much to the same release strategy as possible. We will be sure to keep you up to date as more news on Deadpool 2 casting and other information becomes available.
