We've got less than two months until Deadpool 2 finally arrives in theaters, and now we have a brand new international poster to help tide fans over until they can see the highly-anticipated sequel for themselves. The first Deadpool stood out, not only as a groundbreaking example of what a comic book movie can be, but for having one of the most memorable marketing campaigns in movie history. Fox has tried to keep that up this time around but this new poster, by Deadpool standards, is actually pretty tame. Though, it does bring together Cable and Domino, with Wade Wilson as a buffer.
This particular poster is actually pretty plain and simple, save for a couple of details that make it very distinctively on-brand. There's the white background, with the Deadpool 2 logo up above. We then have Wade Wilson front-and-center, with Domino (Zazie Beetz) to his right and Cable (Josh Brolin) to his left. Simple enough. Domino looks pissed off enough as is, but if you look closely, Cable looks extra made because Wade has a finger in his ear. At this time, we cannot confirm whether or not this was indeed a wet willy, but the look on Cable's face says it might be.
The new poster comes not long after the full-length trailer for Deadpool 2 was released. While it still looks like the creative team is keeping many of the movie's surprises in store for when fans actually see it, we did get to see the X-Force assemble. Aside from Cable and Domino, the trailer showcased Terry Crews, who is playing the character Bedlam. IT star Bill Skarsgard is also part of the team, but his character has yet to be confirmed. There's also Shioli Kutsuna playing a mystery character, alongside Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus from the first movie, who also are back for Deadpool 2. A lot more mutant action going on this time around.
Deadpool truly surprised just about everyone in 2016. Not only did the movie satisfy fans and critics, but it became a truly unexpected box office smash, bringing in $783 million worldwide. That has put a lot of pressure for the sequel to deliver and, while an early rumor indicated that there may be some cause for concern, it looks like Deadpool 2 may be the rare sequel that can possibly outdo its predecessor.
Recently, some test screenings were conducted and a cut of the movie managed to score even better than the first Deadpool did. Fox recently did some reshoots on the movie to help polish it up, adding a secret cameo in the process that fans will reportedly go nuts over. Hopefully, this isn't just a bunch of false hype, but it sounds like we could be in for another very fun, R-rated ride when Deadpool 2 arrives in theaters on May 18. For now, you can check out the brand new international Deadpool 2 poster from Fox Movies.
