The (good-humored) arguing has already begun between Deadpool 3 stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, as the latter claims that the former has slashed his car to pieces using his adamantium claws. Sharing footage to social media of a car that appears to have been attacked by some sort of beast, or a Wolverine, Jackman takes a swipe at himself, saying that his aim will be much better when the Deadpool threequel comes around.

Alongside the footage, Jackman joked that "My aim may be a little off right now. But trust, it will be on point when the need arises. #Wolverine10 @VancityReynolds @ShawnLevyDirect". His Deadpool 3 co-star Ryan Reynolds came back quick with his patented wit saying, "That's my Kia Sorento, you d--k."

Of course, this being an exchange between Wolverine and Deadpool, it does not end there. Jackman has since responded calling Reynolds “exceptionally pissy today” before suggesting that he try some “cat-cow poses” in an effort to calm down.

This is no doubt just a taste of what’s to come in both the finished Deadpool 3 and all the time leading up to it, with Reynolds and Jackman’s feud already well established. The pair have waited a long time to finally take swipes at each other on screen (and no, X-Men Origins: Wolverine does not count) with Wolverine and Deadpool finally set to share the screen in 2024.

While it had been assumed, and stated by the actor himself, that 2017’s Logan would be Hugh Jackman’s final time as Wolverine, this is no longer case. Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds took to social media in September to reveal that Deadpool 3 will center on a Wade Wilson/Logan team-up. This left some fans concerned that Deadpool 3 would ruin the critically acclaimed ending for the character in Logan, but Reynolds and Jackman have since appeared together to clear things up. “Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that,” Reynolds explained, with the footage ending with Jackman paying tribute to Marvel Studios and with Jackman saying, “Love you, Kevin Feige. Thank you, MCU.”

Jackman has since revealed some insight into what we can expect from the return of Wolverine. Asked if the character would be gentler and kinder Jackman replied, “A what? There’s no choice. He’s definitely the angrier, acerbic, grumpy [Wolverine] and he’s gonna take a lot of free shots at Ryan Reynolds, let me tell you. Physically, that is.” Which sounds perfect.

Plot details for Deadpool 3 currently remain under wrap, but it is expected that the plot will follow the pair embarking on a road trip. Though we will have to wait and see on the storyline, Jackman has assured Marvel fans that Deadpool 3 will find Deadpool and Logan butting heads saying, “I think it’s fair to say they’ll be punching the shit out of each other the whole time."

Directed by Shawn Levy and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool 3 is now scheduled to be released on November 8, 2024.
