Earlier this month, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds revealed that the test footage which leaked last year was "100% responsible" for this long-awaited comic book adaptation getting the green light, with production beginning in the actor's hometown of Vancouver next month. Of course, it wasn't just the footage being leaked that lead to the green light, but also the fans' overwhelmingly positive response to the video, which the actor acknowledged in a tweet to his 89,000 followers earlier today.

In another tweet from earlier this week, the actor acknowledges new cast members Gina Carano, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein and Morena Baccarin, stating that he, "can't wait for us all to snap our fingers menacingly to the Cats Soundtrack." Does this mean that there will be some sort of musical number featured in Deadpool? We can't say for sure, but Ryan Reynolds did say last month that they will get "to make the movie we want to make." There are still a number of characters left to be cast, including "Ridge," "Lindsay," "Simon," "Shirlie," "Kathy," "Keren," and "Albert," according to a recent casting call, but hopefully the cast will be rounded out very soon.

Tim Miller is directing from a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with 20th Century Fox setting a February 12, 2016 release date. The studio hasn't released any official story details yet, but with production set to begin in just a few weeks, hopefully we'll learn much more about Deadpool before shooting begins. Take a look at Ryan Reynolds' tweets, and chime in with your thoughts below. Hopefully the actor will use his Twitter account to share photos from the set, but we'll have to wait and see.
