After Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds confirmed the comic book adaptation's R rating in a unique April Fools Day video yesterday, we have new photos from the Vancouver set, which show the actor as Wade Wilson. Unfortunately, we don't get any new images of the actor in his full Deadpool costume, but we also get our first look at Gina Carano (Angel Dust), Morena Baccarin (Copycat) and Ed Skrein, who is reportedly playing a villain but that has yet to be confirmed.

When the official synopsis was released last weekend, it revealed that Wade Wilson/Deadpool was subjected to "a rogue experiment," likely the Weapon X program, which left him with accelerated healing abilities. The story follows Deadpool as he tracks down "the man who nearly destroyed his life." There is speculation that Ed Skrein's character may be Garrison Kane, another member of the Weapon X program who has cybernetic arms. The official synopsis also lead to speculation as to whether or not Deadpool has a larger part in the overall X-Men cinematic franchise as originally believed, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.

Visual effects artist Tim Miller is making his directorial debut with Deadpool, working from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. With production just getting under way, hopefully we'll see more from the Deadpool set in the weeks and months to come. In the meantime, take a look at the latest photos from the Vancouver set below.
