Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is clearly going to release all manner of cameos on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a recent poster seemingly revealing an appearance from The Merc With a Mouth himself, Deadpool. The poster, which was released by Twitter user Doctor Strange 2 Updates, shows Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange smashing the window of The Sanctum Sanctorum, teases several variants from across the multiverse, with some eagle-eyed fans thinking they’ve spotted a hint of Deadpool.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will pick up following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the first season of Loki. Dr. Stephen Strange, with the help of both old and new mystical allies, travels into the multiverse to face a mysterious new adversary. Based on the recent trailer, it looks like some of these new allies will be characters already established, such as Captain Carter who has also been teased in this latest poster, as well as various 20th Century Fox franchises, including Patrick Stewart’s Professor X. Thus, the idea of Deadpool popping up for some multiversal adventures is not far beyond the realm of possibility...

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, Doctor Strange 2 stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will take the MCU to places it has never been before, no doubt setting up the franchise's future, including The X-Men, The Fantastic Four, and, it would appear, Deadpool.

Adding fuel to the already hugely warming fire, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld recently confirmed that many of the ongoing rumors surrounding Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are indeed true. “I think it’s safe to say some of the stuff, you just said that’s out there, it’s happening. It’s in, it’s been seen… And so dude, give us lots of that,” Liefeld said.

According to the comic book legend, the studio is currently test screening Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness over and over again, with the hopes that they can make this exploration of the multiverse even more exciting than the likes of Spider-Man: No Way Home. “But yeah, Doctor Strange… to answer that other question and, you know, whatever they’re testing. I kind of feel like each… result of each test that’s being reported in the press is ‘We need to put more cool shit in that movie,'” Liefeld continued.

This will seemingly include adding as many characters previously owned by 20th Century Fox as possible to proceedings, which would, of course, include Deadpool. “You want me to see it six times, you bring some of that [Fox-Marvel] stuff in… And actually, I know on some level, some of it is already there,” Liefeld added. “I have just revoked every – every one of my [Marvel] passes just got revoked.”

Fans will have to wait a little while to find just how mad the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are going to get, with the Marvel sequel scheduled to be released on May 6, 2022, as part of Phase Four of the MCU.
