The cast of Carry-On, an upcoming Netflix Amblin thriller, has added some new names to its cast. Among them is Dean Norris, an actor who's still widely celebrated for his role in the hit AMC drama Breaking Bad. The series has maintained its popularity with an enthusiastic fan base for years due to its availability on streaming, along with the spinoff series Better Call Saul keeping the franchise alive until coming to its end earlier this year. Since Breaking Bad ended in 2013, Norris had a guest appearance on Better Call Saul and starred in the TV shows Under the Dome, Claws, and United States of Al.

Per Deadline, Norris' next role comes in Carry-On with the actor joining the cast alongside Tonatiuh (Angelyne), Logan Marshall Green (Lou), Sinqua Walls (upcoming White Men Can't Jump), Joe Williamson (Black Bird), Curtiss Cook (West Side Story), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), and Gil Perez-Abraham (The Batman). It was previously announced that the film also stars Taron Egerton (Kingsman franchise), Jason Bateman (Ozark), Sofia Carson (Descendants), Danielle Deadwyler (Till), and Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy).

Details have not been revealed about the characters that Norris and the other new cast members will be playing in the film. What's known about Carry-On is that it will follow a young TSA agent named Ethan Kopek who "gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight."

Jaume Collet-Serra (Black Adam) is directing Carry-On. The script was penned by TJ Fixman with revisions by Michael Green. Dylan Clark produces while Brian Williams executive produces for Dylan Clark Productions alongside Scott Greenberg and Seth William Meier.

Have We Seen the Last of Hank in the Breaking Bad Universe?

While Hank met a gruesome end in Breaking Bad, Dean Norris was able to reprise the role for the prequel series Better Call Saul. There are no active plans for another spinoff to be developed in that world, though co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould haven't closed the door entirely to revisiting that franchise one day. Gould has even teased that Hank is one character who has potential to do more with another series.

"Every single one of these characters could have a whole show. There's no question. I mean, Kim Wexler, Mike Ehrmantraut, Hank Schrader... I could see the Hank Schrader show, absolutely," Gould said earlier this year, via Metro. "We'll just have to see what happens. Right now. I think we're going to give it a little rest."

In the meantime, look forward to seeing Dean Norris in Carry-On.
