In another example of how video games and DVDs are driving the entertainment industry, Warner Home Video is scheduling the release of it's "Definitive" Dirty Harry Collection with the release of Warner Bros. Interactive's "Dirty Harry" video game.

In a story from Yahoo!, the announcement of this double release was made at the E3 video game conference.

Clint Eastwood is producing and starring in the game as well as consulting on the box set DVD release. Also, all the films in the Dirty Harry Collection (Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool) will be in HD-DVD, feature all new sound and bonus features.

According to Variety, Gene Hackman and Laurence Fishburne have come on board to portray characters in the game.

Hackman will be "Harry's boss, Police Supervisor Al Bressler. In the 1971 pic, Bressler was played by Harry Guardino, who passed away in 1995. Fishburne will play a new opponent for Harry named Rev. Carlton Clay."

According to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment head, Jason Hall, "In all of the movies, Harry never had his equal in a bad guy, and we needed that in the game."
