A new Brad Pitt baseball film has just added another to its dugout. According to Variety, comedian Demetri Martin has joined the cast of Moneyball.

Steven Soderbergh is directing the film based off Michael Lewis' book which tells the tale of Oakland Athletic's general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) and his low-cost formula for championship success. Martin will play Paul De Luca, a statistician who's Earned Run Value system took a unique approach to scouting and enabled Beane to hire quality players at a lower cost.

There will also be some real-life ballplayers in the cast with David Justice and Scott Hatteberg signing on to play themselves and Daryl Strawberry and Lenny Dykstra will be among ballplayers being interviewed on camera about their experiences with Beane during his playing days.

Steve Zallian is polishing the script by Stan Chervin, and Rachael Horovitz, based off Lewis' book. Filming is set to begin in June.
