Denise Richards' week did not get off to a good start, to say the least. The Wild Things actress was involved in a road rage incident that put her and her husband's lives at risk.

According to TMZ, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alumni and her husband, fellow actor Aaron Phypers, were driving to Popsicle Studio in Los Angeles on Monday, where the actress was scheduled to work that day, when they encountered the life-threatening situation.

Aaron Phypers was behind the wheel of their Ford F-150 pickup truck while Denise Richards was in the passenger seat. Reportedly the couple was having trouble finding the studio and that prompted them to slow down their vehicle, it was then that the driver of the car behind them got visibly irritated and began shouting at them and prompting them to speed up.

In response to the situation, Aaron Phypers let the other driver pass him, but that was not enough for the driver, who opened fire at them and the bullet hit the couple's vehicle. The couple managed to escape the situation unharmed. They didn't realize they had been shot at until they arrived at the studio and saw the bullet hole.

Denise was visibly shaken when she arrived on set. A person working for production at Popsicle Studio reportedly called 911, but it's still unclear if a police report has been filed. The couple was lucky they were able to escape what could have been a potentially life-threatening situation unharmed.

“Thank you. I would never wish any harm on anyone,” Richards wrote on Twitter. “What I experienced yesterday with my husband, not that you care. Was the most terrifying situation I have ever been in.”

Aaron Phypers and Denise Richards appeared on two seasons of Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2019 to 2020 and exited the show after a fallout between Richards and fellow castmate Lisa Rinna. Lately, it has been rumored that the Drop Dead Gorgeous actress could possibly return to the show.

"Yeah, I've always said that," Richards told Jeff Lewis on his SiriusXM show. "Never say never, you know."

The Illinois native has several projects lined up. She's currently in production for Wickensburg, directed by Richard Boddington, Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace alongside Arifin Putra, and A Walking Miracle, directed by Daniel Baldwin.
