When they move to Britain, her life is turned upside down when her young son disappears and her husband tries to have her institutionalized.

The book, a best seller in Britain, has not come over to the states yet, but is set to arrive later this year. as of yet is not yet published Stateside.

Gordon says of the book, "It's extremely exciting to find a piece of material for which you'd walk on coals to get a film made, and that's this piece of material. Good female characters are really difficult to find, and this character is complex and flawed and courageous. It is one of those once-in-a-blue-moon type of roles."

A production date is not scheduled for A Special Relationship.
