Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have agreed to renew their first look deal for three more years. This will extend EAs stay at Sony through 2015. They have been with the studio since 1998.

Escape Artists next project is Great Hope Springs, starring Meryl Streep, Steve Carell, and Tommy Lee Jones. Sony will release this romantic comedy about marriage with MGM in December of 2012. EA is producing alongside Mandate Pictures and Management 360.

Escape Artists have also announced that Denzel Washington will headline their TV-to-Screen adaptation of The Equalizer, and that they are in development with Nick Stoller on Sex Tape. They company is also producing Masters of the Universe, based on the Mattel toy line.

Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal stated the following.

"We have been partners with (Escape Artists) for more than a decade and we trust them implicitly for a simple reason: they have first-rate taste. They carefully choose the projects that they want to make and they have a very focused and disciplined development process. We couldn't be more thrilled to continue our collaboration with them."
