Deon Taylor directing Akuma for Screen Media Films
Screen Media Films has announced that Deon Taylor (The Hustle, Chain Letter, Nite Tales, Dead Tone) will next direct Akuma (Japanese for "Demon"), a supernatural tale planned for release in the fall of 2012.

Taylor will direct the film and produce alongside Roxanne Avent from a screenplay that he wrote with Blayne Weaver and Joe Bockol.

The movie, which Taylor describes as a mix between Paranormal Activity and The Exorcist, follows a young Japanese woman, Akira, who is looking to put her life back together after a recent tragedy. As she pushes hard to overcome these problems she soon realizes that she's fighting something very dark.

It is noted that the film will employ a "handheld style" in the shooting, which will take place in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Japan and San Francisco, beginning November 10th.
