Old and new faces unite in a first look image of the core cast of Showtime's upcoming Dexter revival, Dexter: New Blood. Standing amid the titular serial killer's new, snowy surroundings the promo image offers a glimpse of the few faces, both familiar and unfamiliar, that will fall into the drama caused by Dexter's violent habits.

From left to right we have Clancy Brown as Kurt Caldwell, Johnny Sequoyah as Audrey Bishop, Jack Alcott as Dexter's estranged son, Harrison Morgan, Alano Miller as Logan, Julia Jones as Angela Bishop, Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, and finally Jennifer Carpenter as Debra Morgan, Dexter's adoptive sister who was killed during the finale of the show's original run.

As many had suspected, Debra will be resurrected in Dexter's mind, replacing his father as the new Dark Passenger. "I love the concept of the Dark Passenger and being invited into Dexter's psyche," Carpenter said of her return earlier this year. "I feel like sometimes the Dark Passenger and the passenger is almost directly behind the wheel and it was an opportunity not to be an angel or devil on his shoulder, but to jerk the wheel to the left or right against his will. And to manipulate him, to navigate him, to abuse him, to save him. I felt like it was something entirely different than some sort of ghost entity."

Dexter: New Blood picks up 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura. The series finds him living under an assumed name in the small town of Iron Lake, New York, where he has developed a relationship with Angela Bishop, the town's chief of police, and has suppressed his serial killing urges. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger beckons. The series will also introduce a new villain for Dexter to contend with in the form of Clancy Brown as Kurt Caldwell, the unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake.

Alongside Debra's resurrection and Clancy Brown's bad guy, Dexter: New Blood will bring another familiar presence back into Dexter's life: his son, Harrison. Played by The Good Lord Bird star Jack Alcott, the most recent trailer teased the father-son reunion, with the estranged pair no doubt having a lot to catch up on after all these years. The biological son of Dexter and Rita Morgan, Harrison was abandoned by his father as a small boy, left in the care of Hannah McKay after Dexter fakes his own death during the final moments of the eighth season.

"The show is about developing our relationship and that we're two people who don't know each other and want to know each other," Alcott revealed. "That's hard when there's been that much space, the circumstances of having that much space and the secrets that he keeps. That's about all I can say."

Starring Michael C. Hall in the title role and featuring Clyde Phillips' return as showrunner, Dexter: New Blood will be comprised of 10-episodes, and is scheduled to premiere on November 7, 2021. This comes to us from Collider.
