Even though production is already under way on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, that doesn't mean that casting is over for this highly-anticipated superhero adventure, which puts Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) together on the big screen for the first time. A number of other characters from the comic books have already been confirmed, such as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons), but as the title suggests, the movie will set the table for Warner Bros.' highly-anticipated Justice League. Yesterday, a new, unconfirmed report surfaced that revealed Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Perhaps in response to the story, Jason Momoa posted a new photo on his Instagram account, where he is seen holding a pitchfork much like Aquaman's trident. Does this mean the actor has signed on to play Aquaman? Take a look at the photo, and judge for yourself.
Of course, the actor's obscene gesture in the photo could hint that he is not playing Aquaman, especially since this is not the first time this rumor surfaced. Back in December, we reported that the actor was being considered for a role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was rumored to be either Doomsday or Martian Manhunter. The actor denied the rumor just a month later, but another unconfirmed report from April revealed that he has signed on to play Aquaman, in a role that would reportedly only amount to a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but will set up his appearance in Justice League.
Yesterday's report revealed that Aquaman is not pleased with how the World Machine has treated the Indian Ocean, as he seeks out Kal-El to help with this problem. The story also finds most of the world angry with Superman, following the massive destruction he caused to Metropolis in Man of Steel. Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) reportedly leads the charge to ban Superman from Earth, turning all of humanity against this alien.
