Production began this past Friday on the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII, with director J.J. Abrams' production company Bad Robot revealing the first slate from the shoot in Abu Dhabi. Today, we have a few more interesting Star Wars: Episode VII tidbits to share with you, with a hand-written note from the director to his cast and crew on the first day of shooting. The note appears to be printed on the front pages of the screenplay, since script supervisor Dawn Gilliam's watermark is seen on the note. Take a look at the image and the transcription of the filmmaker's handwriting, then read on for a special video message from the director.
Dearest Cast and Crew, What an honor it is to work beside all of you, on Star Wars: Ep. VII. I can't thank you enough, for all work past and future. Let's take good care of not just ourselves, but of each other. Amazing, but true: the world awaits this film. Let's give 'em something GREAT. xo J.J.
In addition to the note, J.J. Abrams took time out from his London production schedule to send along a special video message for the fans attending Walt Disney World's Stars of the Saga presentation during Star Wars Weekend.
