Fresh off the success of his summer action-adventure sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Matt Reeves is teaming up with 20th Century Fox once again for an untitled bank heist thriller. No story details were given, except that the project is said to be in the same vein as heist classics such as Dog Day Afternoon and Heat. Matt Charman (Untitled Cold War Thriller) will write the script based on his original pitch, with Tobey Maguire producing through his Material Pictures company.

Matt Charman, a London-based screenwriter, first developed the project several years ago with Matthew Plouffe, who runs Material Pictures. The writer's manager took his pitch to Matt Reeves, and once he was interested, 20th Century Fox came on board. Matt Reeves and Matthew Plouffe are also producing, with Mark Roybal and Ryan Jones overseeing the project for Fox.

Matt Reeves is expected to make this untitled project after Planet of the Apes 3, which 20th Century Fox has already slated for release on July 29, 2016. Tobey Maguire's Material Pictures has two high-profile projects in the works, The 5th Wave, which is currently shooting with Chloe Moretz, Maggie Siff and Liev Schreiber, and Z for Zachariah, which has Margot Robbie, Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor attached to star.
