Disney has bought the rights to the live-action and animated flick, Animated American.

The film illustrates the difficulty teens experience trying to fit in; Robert Zemeckis is producing the Peter Ackerman script about a misfit who's at sea when his girlfriend leaves town after graduation and he's forced to find himself. Variety notes he will be animated, while the world around him will be live-action.
