Disney has acquired Mongoose, an action comedy from writers Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plot is being kept under wraps, though it has been described as having franchise potential and being in the tone of the Beverly Hills Cop and Austin Powers films.

Cannistraci and Seton are best known for Pierre Pierre, a comedy spec that sold in the seven figures and attracted Jason Reitman and Jim Carrey. It is in development at Fox Atomic. The script was praised for its voice and comedic set pieces.
