Variety reports that Disneynature has nabbed the rights to distribute OceanWorld 3D in North America and Mexico.
The Documentary takes audiences through Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Argentina's Peninsula Valdez and Mexico's Roca Partida Island through the eyes of a sea turtle. People are calling this the first feature-length nature documentary film that was shot and released entirely in 3-D.
The film showcases Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
Disney has no release date for the film as of yet but it will start screening in France and Russia in August.
OceanWorld 3D originally debuted at the Cannes Film Festival. It was directed by Jean-Jacques and Francois Mantello (the team behind Sharks 3D).
"This is exactly the kind of film that Disneynature is striving to make," stated Jean-Francois Camilleri the executive vice president-general manager for Disneynature.
