Even though The Hunger Games franchise came to an end last year with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, there are still plenty of young adult adaptations to go around. In just a few months, Summit and Lionsgate will bring the adventures of Tris and Four back to the big screen with the new Divergent Series sequel The Divergent Series: Allegiant, hitting theaters on March 18. Today, the studio released the third trailer for this highly-anticipated adaptation on the franchise's Twitter page, which features plenty of new footage.

The third installment of the blockbuster Divergent series franchise, Allegiant takes Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) into a new world, far more dangerous than ever before. After the earth-shattering revelations of The Divergent Series: Insurgent, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city.

Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.

The supporting cast includes returning franchise stars Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, and Jonny Weston and Mekhi Phifer. Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and Naomi Watts join Jeff Daniels for the third and fourth films, alongside Keiynan Lonsdale, Daniel Dae Kim, Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgård. Robert Schwentke directs from an adapted screenplay by Noah Oppenheim, based on Veronica Roth's novel.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant hits theaters on March 18, going up against The Bounce Back and Miracles from Heaven. While this fantasy adaptation may very well win in its first week in theaters, it will have to contend with the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in its second weekend. Take a look at the third trailer below, and stay tuned for more on The Divergent Series: Allegiant and the franchise finale The Divergent Series: Ascendant, arriving on June 9, 2017.
