As Divergent fans continue the countdown to the third installment, The Divergent Series: Allegiant, a new series of character posters have debuted, which offer some intriguing information. Teen Vogue has debuted these posters, featuring Tris (Shailene Woodley), Four (Theo James), Caleb (Ansel Elgort), Christina (Zoë Kravitz) and Peter (Miles Teller), along with each character's "purity" level. In related news, the franchise finale The Divergent Series: Ascendant is now scrambling to find a new director.

The third installment of the blockbuster Divergent series franchise, Allegiant takes Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) into a new world, far more dangerous than ever before. After the earth-shattering revelations of The Divergent Series: Insurgent, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city.

Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love. The supporting cast includes returning franchise stars Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, and Jonny Weston and Mekhi Phifer. Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and Naomi Watts join Jeff Daniels for the third and fourth films, alongside Keiynan Lonsdale, Daniel Dae Kim, Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgård.

Robert Schwentke directs from an adapted screenplay by Noah Oppenheim, based on Veronica Roth's novel. The filmmaker, who also directed last year's sequel The Divergent Series: Insurgent, was originally set to come back and take the helm on the franchise finale, The Divergent Series: Ascendant, but Deadline reports that he is stepping away from the project. There is reportedly no animosity between the studio and the director, but he is just in need of a break after shooting The Divergent Series: Insurgent and The Divergent Series: Allegiant back-to-back.

Lionsgate is reportedly scrambling to find a director to take Robert Schwentke's place, since the studio has already set a June 9, 2017 release. It isn't known when production will begin at this time, or if the studio is already contacting filmmakers to take over the directing gig. We'll keep you posted with any updates on The Divergent Series: Ascendant, but for now, take a look at the new character posters for The Divergent Series: Allegiant, arriving in theaters March 18.
