Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) breaks down why Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) and her kind are so dangerous in the latest clip from Divergent, arriving in theaters March 21. Director Neil Burger's adaptation of Veronica Roth's novel is set in a society where citizens must devote their lives to one of five factions, although there are some like Tris who are known as divergents, those who don't fit into any of these groups. In addition to this new scene, IMAX has also released their new FanFix poster, designed by artist Victo Ngai, which will be given to fans who attend the first IMAX screenings of Divergent on Thursday, March 20. Take a look at the clip and one-sheet, then read the official press release for more details.
Exclusively for IMAX fans as part of the IMAX FanFix program, those attending the first shows of Summit Entertainment's Divergent on Thursday, March 20, will receive a limited edition Divergent print featuring original artwork by award-winning artist and illustrator, Victo Ngai.
Ngai may be new to the IMAX FanFix roster, but she is no stranger to the spotlight. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Village Voice, WIRED, and many more. She was also recently named to the 2014 Forbes 30 Under 30: Art & Style.
In commenting on the inspiration behind the artwork, Ngai had this to say.
"I wanted to capture the scene of Tris and Four jumping off a moving train as it not only represents the courage required to become a Dauntless, it also symbolized the leap from their old faction and life, a decision they cannot go back on."
