The writing team of Jeremy Passmore (Red Dawn) and Andre Fabrizio have signed on to pen the action thriller DMZ, from CJ Entertainment and Lorenzo di Bonaventura's di Bonaventura Pictures.

According to Variety, the story centers on a U.S. satellite that crashes in the Korean Demilitarized Zone and an unlikely international group of soldiers who unite to enter the DMZ and retrieve the satellite despite the imminent threat of hostile North Korean soldiers. The disparate heroes soon learn that there is something much more deadly in the DMZ than enemy soldiers.

The writers and the producing team recently visited Korea for research, including the actual DMZ and the infiltration tunnel.

No production date has been set.
