Even though Benedict Cumberbatch has become a leading man at the movies, he still holds down a day job on television as Sherlock, with a Christmas special on the way and another season lined-up. So it's not beyond the realm of possibility that the actor would reprise his role as Doctor Strange on the small screen. A new rumor claims the iconic character will appear on Marvel's Iron Fist. And he may even appear before that on one of the other three Netflix Marvel series.

Bleeding Cool started the rumor, claiming that Marvel plans to include Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange in an episode of at least one Netflix series, and they specifically point to Marvel's Iron Fist, with it's ties to the world of mysticism. Strange serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats, and it might make sense for him to show up in Hell's Kitchen. Though, Bleeding Cool isn't sure how substantial the cameo will be.

They go onto state that Doctor Strange may only appear in the distance, with a stand-in covering for Benedict Cumberbatch. Perhaps only Benedict Cumberbatch's voice will be heard. It's not clear if Marvel's Iron Fist or one of the other shows, which include Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones and Marvel's Luke Cage, will introduce Strange before his big screen adventure. The movie opens in November of next year, but it's unclear when Marvel's Iron Fist will premiere on Netflix. If we're to go by the timeline currently set up, Marvel's Iron Fist, the last of the four Marvel titles to debut, will arrive right around the same time Doctor Strange is making its way to theaters. There could be cross promotion between the two titles.

Though, Badass Digest is quick to dispel the rumor, claiming that a major Marvel star would not sign a contract that included appearances in TV shows. This is all speculation, but the site calls out Bleeding Cool for reporting false rumors. Though, their track record isn't as shady as some. They did first report that Elizabeth Olsen will return as Scarlet Witch in Captain America: Civil War, something the actress confirmed earlier this week.
