Marvel Studios has put a lot of effort into attempting to keep the secrets of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness intact. It looks like the upcoming MCU movie is going to have the same level of security around it as Avengers: Endgame to ensure that there are no leaks ahead of the film’s release on May 6. It has been reported that there will be no full screenings of the movie until the Hollywood premiere which is set to happen four days before the movie opens worldwide.

So far there have been a lot of rumors…and we mean a LOT of rumors… about who may or may not appear in the film, who the villain is, how it will end, and what it means for the future of the MCU. Of course, there is very little of this confirmed, but it is safe to assume that some theories will prove to be correct and others will be way off the mark. For Marvel Studio’s part, they will be wanting to make sure that as many people as possible don’t find out either way until they sit in a cinema seat to watch the film.

The sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange is also a direct continuation of Spider-Man: No Way Home, picking up as Strange once more finds himself caught up in multiverse events that threatened the very fabric of reality. This time around the focus is all on the former Sorcerer Supreme as he is faced with alternate versions of himself and other Marvel characters, the arrival of multiverse-traveling America Chavez, the Illuminati, and who knows what else, as he attempts to keep reality in check and prevent a catastrophic breakdown of the MCU as we know it.

There is little doubt now that whatever was delivered in Spider-Man: No Way Home was only a start for what is coming in the Doctor Strange sequel. Although it is technically Doctor Strange’s second solo film, there is so much packed into this one it could well be an Avengers level event, and that is apparent from the lengths Disney and Marvel Studios have gone to ensure that as much of the movie remains hidden until the last moment.

While there have been many debates about whether trailers show too much, there is never any fear of a Marvel Studios trailer doing that. Even when people think they have worked out exactly where a movie is heading, there are plenty of alternative shots, shots with characters removed, and scenes that don’t play out exactly as it seems to prevent anyone guessing exactly what will and won’t be seen when the movie makes its debut.

Now more than ever, those who have followed the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its inception are about to get another of those payoffs that can only come from such an elaborately woven tapestry as the one Marvel Studios has created over 14 years. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to be an integral piece of the story, both in linking to the past and ushering in its future, which means another monster hit on the cards come May 6.
