Yesterday, we brought you the first set photo from Marvel's Doctor Strange. As of yet, we have no official word from Disney nor Marvel that confirms shooting has started. More set photos have arrived today. And we get a better look at star Benedict Cumberbatch. Though, this latest sneak peek shows our leading man before his big /doctor-strange-movie-rachel-mcadams-character/superhero transformation.

One of the images reveals the film crew that is traveling with Benedict Cumberbatch through Nepal. It is very small. And it looks like these may be quick pick-up shots to be used in a montage of some sort. These certainly aren't spectacular action set pieces. And it's speculated that we're seeing Dr. Stephen Strange on the first leg of his journey, as he sets out to become the Sorcerer Supreme. In fact, the crew here is so small, perhaps this is test footage being shot, or some other production altogether.

Doctor Strange is certainly supposed to begin production this month. And we'll likely get a joint PR from Disney and Marvel announcing that production is underway once the crew moves onto bigger and better scenes. If this is in fact Benedict Cumberbatch in costume, we do get a good sense of what he'll look like in the Doctor's signature facial hair. Yet, we haven't seen him in his full-on mystical costume just yet. And probably won't until the studios release an official image.

Most Marvel movies have become international affairs, as they shoot in various locations throughout the world. Doctor Strange appears to be no different, as the first leg of this production kicks off in Nepal. Dr. Stephen Strange is seen here in a backpack and coat, and is believed to be on his walkabout, seeking mystical help to overcome his affliction. After a sever accident that leaves both his hands injured and unable to perform surgery, Doctor Strange goes on a trek to find a cure. He soon encounters the Ancient One. His career thought to be destroyed, the brilliant but arrogant surgeon gets a new lease on life when this sorcerer takes him under his wing. The Ancient One trains him to defend the world against evil as he becomes the Sorcerer Supreme.

Doctor Strange will be the second of the Marvel Phase 3 movies. It arrives in theaters next November under the direction of Scott Derrickson, known for such thrillers as Deliver Us from Evil and Sinister. Jon Spaihts, the man in charge of writing the screenplay for the upcoming Untitled Mummy Reboot, is penning the script for this fantasy adventure. Also attached to star in the movie is Rachel McAdams as the female lead, Michael Stuhlbarg as Doctor Nicodemus West, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor as the good doctor's arch foe, Baron Mordo. Mads Mikkelsen, star of the recently canceled Hannibal, is in talks for the villain role of the film, which remains a mystery.

Doctor Strange follows Captain America: Civil War, which wrapped shooting this past summer and is in theaters this May. It may not be until a little later in the month that we hear shooting has officially started. And at that time, we can expect Marvel to share some sort of teaser, whether it be an official piece of promo art or an actual photo. Until that time, we'll always have Benedict Cumberbatch and Nepal.
