Warning: This article contains spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The recently released Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a sequel to the first Doctor Strange film with Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as Stephen Strange. When Doctor Strange casts a forbidden spell, he opens a portal to the multiverse and while he and his colleague struggle to manage the chaos, they soon discover a threat that may be too big for them to handle. The film has been subject to a great deal of praise, particularly for the unique direction from Sam Raimi, director of the original Spider-Man trilogy, and the performances from Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, and Xochitl Gomez.

Much like every film within the MCU, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness features a number of cameo appearances from characters that the audience has grown to know and love. The most known person to make a cameo in every MCU film up until his death was Stan Lee, the primary creative leader at Marvel Comics. That said, many characters within the MCU have made cameos, as seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home when all three Spider-Men meet and speak to one another. Here’s every cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Making his first subtle cameo appearance in the trailer for Multiverse of Madness, Patrick Stewart reprises his role as Professor Charles Xavier. While Charles Xavier’s presence was a welcome addition to the newest Marvel film, his appearance in the film caught fans off guard, particularly his floating yellow wheelchair. This unusual change made a number of Marvel fanatics very happy as the yellow chair is accurate to the appearance of Charles’ chair in the comic books as well as how it has previously appeared in a number of animated series. A great contrast to the black metallic chair seen in all the X-Men live-action films, this new yellow chair broke new ground for the potential that many additions to the MCU will be more comic book-accurate.

While many know Brie Larson to play the role of Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel, on Earth-838, Carol’s best friend Maria Rambeau is Captain Marvel. This comes as a shock to viewers to see a totally different person take on the role of the iconic superhero. That said, being that they are on a different timeline altogether, it makes sense that there would be some massive changes to the heroes we’ve all come to know and love. Her presence in Multiverse of Madness has led many to wonder what happened in the timeline to cause this drastic change.

The Disney+ original series What If…? has been considered by many to be the set-up for the plot of The Multiverse of Madness, telling stories of parallel universes. It shows how the slightest differences can cause some very big changes in the grand scheme of things. One popular storyline in What If…? was when Peggy Carter took the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers, becoming Captain Carter, the First Avenger. Captain Carter appeared in The Multiverse of Madness as the second member of the Illuminati, making it canon that, in an alternate universe, Peggy Carter became the equivalent of Captain America, even going so far as to say Captain America’s iconic line “I can do this all day”.

In the Marvel TV series Inhumans, we are introduced to the superhero Black Bolt, portrayed by Anson Mount. Black Bolt is a silent but deadly hero whose power allows him to level a city merely by speaking, which is the reason why he does not speak. While Black Bolt’s character was not particularly popular in the short run of Inhumans, Black Bolt has made a cameo in The Multiverse of Madness. While Black Bolt’s personality and abilities did not change, his appearance was changed in The Multiverse of Madness, with his new costume being an exact replica of his costume in the comics.

By far the most shocking and welcome cameo made in The Multiverse of Madness is that of Mr. Fantastic, portrayed by John Krasinski. We have seen Mr. Fantastic portrayed by a number of actors in the past, but he has no official appearance in the MCU. While it had long been rumored that Krasinksi would make an appearance as Mr. Fantastic within the MCU, they were mostly rumors and fan-castings — until now. Fans of Krasinski were blown away by his presence in the film, finally seeing him in a superhero role after becoming known for his role as nice-guy Jim on The Office. Per Forbes, fans within the MCU have begun to speculate about whether Krasinski will reprise his role as Reed Richards or if it was a one-time cameo.

Multiversal traveler America Chavez discovers Pizza Poppa upon arriving in Earth-838. Chavez stumbles upon Pizza Poppa when she goes to claim her free meal in the universe. Pizza Poppa is known for his iconic line “Pizza Poppa always gets paid!”. This line led Doctor Strange to put a spell on him, covering him in mustard and making him punch himself for three weeks straight. In the post-credits scene, Pizza Poppa’s suffering comes to an end when the spell wears off. Pizza Poppa is portrayed by Bruce Campbell, actor known for his portrayal of Ask Williams in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise.
