The Fourth Doctor is coming back to the big screen. Fathom Events has teamed up with BBC Studios to bring Tom Baker's final Doctor Who special, Logopolis, to theaters in the U.S. for the first time ever. This isn't just the average bit of fun for any Whovians out there. This is a landmark moment in the history of the long-running sci-fi series and this represents a chance to see it in theaters with bonus content.

Tom Baker is arguably the most celebrated Doctor in the history of the show. Baker first appeared in 1974 and played the role for seven years, totaling 172 episodes. Prior to the rebooted version of the series, which kicked off in 2005 and helped to popularize the series for American audiences, Baker was the most well-known Doctor. Logopolis was his last adventure before his regeneration into the Fifth Doctor, who was portrayed by Peter Davison. Not only does the 100-minute tale feature the regeneration, but it also marked the debut of companion Teegan, played by Janet Fielding, as well as Anthony Ainley as the Doctor's archenemy, The Master.

Logopolis sees the Time Lord in a contemplative mood as he attempts to repair the Tardis' broken chameleon circuit, which has left the Doctor's trusty time-traveling vehicle in the form of a police box. The Doctor and Adric make their way to Logopolis, a planet run by mathematical geniuses, where they encounter the Master, who plots to steal the secret of the planet's massive radio telescope. His scheme accidentally releases a wave of entropy that threatens to destroy the universe. The Doctor and the Master are forced to work with one another to prevent the end of existence itself.

The event will also feature a brand new interview with the Fourth Doctor himself, Tom Baker, as well as companions Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton. This special event, in part, is being held to celebrate the release of Baker's complete final season of Doctor Who on Blu-ray on March 19. Needless to say, classic Doctor Who fans have a lot to look forward to in the next few months. This should also help fill the void while we wait for Jodie Whittaker to make her return as the Thirteenth Doctor in Doctor Who season 12, which is set to debut in early 2020.
