In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Tony-winning actress Donna Murphy is coming aboard Disney's animated film, Rapunzel.
The cast also includes Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi.
Byron Howard and Nathan Greno (Bolt) are directing this musical comedy, which redoes "the Grimm fairy tale of the girl with the magic golden tresses." The story follows Rapunzel (voiced by Moore), who gets kidnapped from her parents' castle as a young girl and is then locked in a hidden tower before getting out with the help of a bandit (Levi).
Murphy is going to voice Mother Gothel, she is the witch who keeps Rapunzel prisoner in a tower that has no doors or stairs.
The film will be presented in 3D and released next year for the holiday season.
