Actor Stephen Lang may have just confirmed development on Don’t Breathe 3. While discussing the character of Norman Nordstrom, aka The Blind Man, in the Don’t Breathe franchise with ComingSoon.net and what it is that draws him back to certain roles, Lang stated pretty matter-of-factly that he will “enjoy filming Don’t Breathe 3" — which certainly sounds like it’s already happening.

“Well, it depends on the role. I find with the sequels you’re talking about, Don’t Breathe. It’s not difficult for me to open the door into the Blind Man’s brain, you know? It’s not a place I want to spend a huge amount of time [laughs] unless that’s what I’m doing, and when I’m doing it, when I’m in the Blind Man, it’s a very interesting place to be. I’ve enjoyed, if that’s the right word, but I guess it is, I enjoyed filming Don’t Breathe and Don’t Breathe 2 very, very much. Just as I plan to enjoy filming Don’t Breathe 3.”

Introduced back in 2016, the first Don't Breathe follows three friends who break into a mysterious blind man's home with the hopes of scoring easy money, only to wind up fighting for their lives when the man traps them inside and starts taking them out one by one. The sequel, 2021’s Don’t Breathe 2, puts The Blind Man in more of a lead position, and attempts to turn him into something of an antihero, picking up with Norman now hiding out in an isolated cabin. During the years he has spent here, he has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a devastating house fire. But their quiet life together is shattered when a group of criminals kidnap the girl, forcing the Blind Man to leave his safe haven to save her.

Though Don’t Breathe 2 received much lesser reviews than its predecessor, The Blind Man has proven to be a very popular character among horror fans. Thanks in no small part to Stephen Lang. No doubt many would love to see the character return for more in Don’t Breathe 3.

Before reprising the role of The Blind Man in a potential Don’t Breathe threequel, Stephen Lang will first reprise the role of Colonel Miles Quaritch in the upcoming blockbuster sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. Despite his character seemingly meeting his end during the finale of the first outing, Avatar: The Way of Water will resurrect Quaritch as a big, blue Avatar. “He’s bigger, he’s bluer, he’s pissed off,” Lang said of Quaritch’s comeback back in July. “There may possibly be an aspect of humility. When you take two Na’vi arrows in the chest, that’s gonna have some kind of effect on you.”

Avatar: The Way of Water will pick up more than a decade after the events of the first film and begins to tell the story of the Sully family, the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. Directed by James Cameron and produced by 20th Century Studios, Avatar: The Way of Water stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, Matt Gerald, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, and CJ Jones.

Avatar: The Way of Water is due for release on December 16, 2022.
