HBO's Doom Patrol has wrapped up filming on the third season of the DC series. Joivan Wade, who stars in the series as Cyborg/Victor Stone, posted an image on his Instagram account with a trio of behind the scenes photos announcing that it felt "like the last day at school." He added that he believes the third season to be the best they have done so far, with amazing writing and performances from all involved.

The actor said, "Feels like the last day at school. Six months, a million takes and a thousand emotions later. What a ride. Doom Patrol season 3 comes to an end and boy! Are you all gonna love it. It's the best season yet in my humble opinion, phenomenal writing, outstanding performances and remarkable efforts from all of the crew involved. I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts. I know you're going to love it." He added, "Gonna put my feet up for a week in Miami recoup & then get back to my entrepreneurial ventures. Let's have a great last day. All my friends in London I hope to see you soon. My friends in LA see you sooner & my friends in ATL, Until next time."

Season 2 of Doom Patrol ended on a tense cliffhanger, leaving fans desperately awaiting the new season coming to HBO Max. The last time we saw DC's grab-bag of heroes they found themselves buried in wax by the Candlemaker with their only chance of survival coming in the form of the Chief's daughter Dorothy - played by Abigail Shapiro - who was left to take on the villain alone. The Doom Patrol's fate hanging in the balance - although a third season existing would suggest the outcome of this scenario - wasn't entirely planned, as the production was shutdown just prior to completing the episode due to the arrival of the pandemic. Speaking to Insider, Shapiro said that they weren't even sure if the episode would air at all.

"It was basically all finished," Shapiro said. "There was going to be one more episode and we only had a couple of scenes left, but we never got to finish that episode. So, I don't know if that episode is ever going to air or anything. I don't know much about what's happening."

As well as resolving Season 2's predicament, the new episodes will also see a whole host of new arrivals to the series in the form of the "Sisterhood of Dada", with all of the characters based on the Grant Morrison comic series run which featured the "Brotherhood of Dada". The new arrivals are Micah Joe Parker as Malcolm; Wynn Everett as Shelley Byron aka The Fog; Miles Mussenden as Lloyd Jefferson aka Frenzy; Anita Kalathara as Holly McKenzie aka Sleepwalk; and Gina Hiraizumi as. Sachiko aka The Quiz. Additionally, Michelle Gomez joins the cast as Madame Rouge and Sebastian Croft and Ty Tennant also appear as the Dead Boy Detectives.

Doom Patrol season 3 is expected to air on HBO Max later this year, however, much to the frustration of fans, no release date has yet been announced.
