The new Hellraiser movie will soon be streaming on Hulu and it's already getting some praise from Doug Bradley. Horror fans will know Bradley very well as the original Pinhead, first making his debut in Clive Barker's original film from 1987. After reprising the role in a slew of sequels, Bradley has since departed the franchise with other actors taking on the role in subsequent films.Jamie Clayton plays a new incarnation of Pinhead in Hulu's Hellraiser, and as the first female actor to take on the role, her version looks a bit different. For his part, Bradley is a fan of the changes that have come with introducing Clayton's Pinhead, feeling that the Hellraiser team totally nailed everything that's needed to make the character great. The horror legend expressed this opinion on Twitter while sharing imagery of Clatyon's Pinhead from the film."I’m a bit blown away by this!" he said. "The clever re-design of the make-up; the shimmer of the “pin heads”; the palette; whatever that keyhole/locket/tracheotomy thing is at the throat. It’s simple, subtle, disturbing and sexy. Everything it should be."He also signed his name by writing, "Peace and Pain, Doug."
Jamie Clayton Says It's a 'Thrill' to Play Pinhead
Coming into the role of Pinhead, Jamie Clayton has a great appreciation for Doug Bradley as the original actor to popularize the iconic horror villain. In a recent interview with Jake's Takes on YouTube, Clayton also spoke about what it feels like to join the Hellraiser franchise. She talked about putting her own touch on Pinhead while still honoring the original, describing the overall experience as an absolute "thrill."
"What a thrill. I mean, what an absolute f***ing thrill," she said. "I wanted to do it in my own way, and not do it in an over-the-top way, but it is like an homage, those Easter eggs for the fans. I mean, oh my god, what an absolute f***ing thrill."
On hearing about Bradley giving her his endorsement for the role, Clayton also noted, "The other day he was asked at one of the conventions where he was doing an appearance, and somebody asked him about it. He's actually a fan of a show I did called Sense8, and gave me his blessing. So, that was really fun for me. That was really sweet."
