While it's not a superhero spin-off film, it seems that a remake of a 1966 British film could have a new director. Deadline New York is reporting that director Doug Liman could direct a remake of the 1966 British film Gamit.

The film was written by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen and it was said that producer Mike Lobell has been trying to get this remake off the ground for years now.

The original film starred Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine, with Caine playing a cat burglar trying to rob a statue from a billionaire and brings on MacLaine's waitress character to help him, since she's a dead ringer for the billionaire's wife.

Liman is also circling The Three Musketeers reboot.
